Bourse postdoctorale, études taïwanaises

La Faculté des sciences sociales offre, en français et en anglais, des
programmes de
baccalauréat, de maîtrise et de doctorat répartis dans neuf départements,
écoles et instituts.
Avec ses quelques 10 000 étudiantes et étudiants, ses 260 professeurs
réguliers, son vaste
choix de programmes et ses centres de recherche, la Faculté des sciences
sociales occupe
une place privilégiée au cœur de l'Université d'Ottawa. Les étudiants
diplômés de la
Faculté, encadrés par des chercheurs chevronnés, mènent des travaux de
fine pointe dans
nos nombreux programmes de maîtrise et de doctorat.

La Chaire en études taïwanaises de la faculté des sciences sociales de
l'Université d'Ottawa invite les chercheur-e-s en études taïwanaises à
poser leur candidature pour un statut de post-doctorant-e-s résident à
l'Université d'Ottawa pour l'année académique 2013-14, sous réserve de
fonds disponibles.

Nous acceptons des candidatures de toutes les disciplines en sciences
sociales, spécialisés dans les aspects politiques, économiques,
sociologiques, ou culturels de Taïwan. Les responsabilités du chercheur
consistent en recherche, rédaction, et la participation aux activités de
la Chaire.

CRITÈRES DE SÉLECTION
• Détenir un doctorat dans une discipline des sciences sociales;
• Démontrer l'excellence, ou un potentiel d'excellence, en enseignement et
en recherche;
• Démontrer la capacité à lire le Chinois (Mandarin), et/ou, dans le cas
de candidats effectuant des recherches historiques, le Japonais; la
capacité de travailler en anglais et en français est un atout
• Une spécialisation dans les études taïwanaises
• La priorité sera donnée aux citoyen-ne-s canadien-ne-s ou statut
résident-e-s permanent-e-s

BILINGUISME
L'Université d'Ottawa étant une institution bilingue, nous considérerons
les demandes de toute candidature pouvant travailler dans une des deux
langues officielles du Canada.

CONDITIONS ET SALAIRE
Le/la chercheur-e recevra une bourse de $34,000 pour l'année académique,
avec bénéfices sociaux, mais auront aussi la possibilité d'enseigner un ou
deux cours par semestre, selon les besoins exprimés par la Faculté des
sciences sociales.

L'étude des demandes débutera le 15 mars 2013. Les personnes intéressées
à poser leur candidature doivent faire parvenir leur curriculum vitae, une
lettre décrivant leurs expériences et leurs intérêts en recherche. Elles
doivent aussi inclure une indication de leurs compétences linguistiques et
une copie de leurs principales publications.

Les candidat(e)s doivent aussi demander que trois lettres de
recommandation soient envoyées directement sous pli confidentiel.

Postdoctoral Fellowship, Chair in Taiwan studies

The Faculty of Social Sciences comprises nine departments, schools and
institutes,
which
offer undergraduate, Master's and doctoral programs in both English and
French. With
its
10,000 students, 260 full-time professors, and wide array of programs and
research
centres, the Faculty of Social Sciences plays a key role at the heart of the
University of Ottawa. Its graduate students are supervised by excellent
researchers
and undertake cutting-edge research in the Faculty's Master's and Ph.D.
programs.

The University of Ottawa, Faculty of Social Science, Chair in Taiwan Studies,
invites applications for a fellowship in Taiwan Studies tenable at the
University of
Ottawa during the academic year 2013-14, conditional upon continued funding.

We welcome candidates in all fields of social science who specialize in
any aspect
of Taiwanese politics, economics, society, or culture. The main
responsibilities of
the Fellow are research, post-thesis writing, and administration of Chair
activities.

QUALIFICATIONS
􀂃 Hold a Ph.D. in social science;
􀂃 Demonstrate excellence or the potential for excellence in
teaching and research;
􀂃 Should have strong demonstrated ability to read Mandarin
Chinese, or, in the case
of historical research, Japanese; The ability to work in English and
French is an
asset.
􀂃 Must specialize in Taiwan Studies.
􀂃 Priority will be given to Canadian citizens or permanent
residents

HIRING CONDITIONS AND SALARY
The Fellow will receive a stipend for the academic year of $34,000, plus
benefits,
but will also be permitted to teach one or two courses per semester,
depending on
the needs of the Faculty.

their curriculum vitae and a letter indicating their Research experience and
interests. They must also indicate their language abilities and submit
copies of
their main publications.
