Call for nomination Holberg International Memorial Prize 2014

Call for nomination Holberg International Memorial Prize 2014
The Board of the Ludvig Holberg Memorial Fund calls for nominations of
candidates for the Holberg International Memorial Prize 2014. It is an
international prize for outstanding scholarly work in the fields of the
arts and humanities, social science, law and theology. The prize winner
must have had a decisive influence on international research, either
within these fields or through interdisciplinary work. The prize, which
was awarded for the first time in 2003, amounts to NOK 4,5 million
(approximately €610,000/$790,000*). For more information:

The nomination deadline is 15 June 2013.

How to nominate?
Scholars holding a senior position at universities and other research
institutions within above mentioned academic fields are entitled to
nominate candidates for the Holberg Prize. The Holberg Prize's
Academic Committee will base its assessment on the letters of
nomination which must state the reasons for the nomination (2 to 3
pages). Letters should also contain a brief CV for the candidate and
suggest referees who know the scholar and his/her work. Joint
nominations do not strengthen a candidacy. Nominations are strictly
confidential.

The winner of the Holberg International Memorial Prize 2014 will be
announced in February 2014. The official award ceremony will take place
in Bergen, Norway in June 2014.
