Aboriginal Affairs â€" Traditional Studies Specialist
Golder Associates Ltd., Calgary

Job Responsibilities
Golder Associates Ltd. is currently recruiting for an Aboriginal Affairs
â€" Traditional Studies Specialist to join our Cultural Sciences Group.
The successful candidate will participate in conducting Traditional
Studies (Traditional Knowledge and Traditional Land Use) and advising on
Aboriginal consultation within a variety of projects. The
responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Advise clients on aboriginal consultation requirements and strategies
Coordinate and direct the work through project teams
Manage and monitor project timelines
Assist with proposal requests
Prepare Traditional Knowledge sections for Environmental Impact Assessment
Prepare field programs according to project objectives and timelines
Conduct interviews in Aboriginal communities
Liaise with internal Project Managers and external Clients

Job Requirements:
The successful candidate will have the following skills and qualifications:

Masters degree in relevant discipline: sociology, anthropology, native
studies etc.
5 plus years recent experience contributing to an Environmental Impact
Assessment
Demonstrated experience with proposal and report writing
Experience working with Aboriginal communities
Awareness of culturally sensitive issues
Ability to manage multiple projects
Proven ability to develop strong relationships with internal and external
clients
Exceptional organizational skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills

In addition, the preferred candidate will have the following attributes:

Strong team player; able to work with multi disciplines to achieve a
common goal
Adaptable; able to quickly adapt to project scope changes
Delivers; always remain client focused
