The Department of Anthropology in the Faculty of Arts invites applications
for a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor.
Anticipated date of commencement is July 1, 2011.
The successful applicant will be a sociocultural anthropologist, have a
Ph.D. by the time of appointment, and be committed to thorough
ethnographic research that is cross-cultural, socially grounded, and
preferably in a setting other than North America, the Himalayas, Amazonia,
Europe, and Oceania. Candidates should show evidence of, or potential for,
an excellent program of research in sociocultural anthropology leading to
high-quality publications. We seek candidates who are versed in both
classical and contemporary anthropological theory, who complement current
departmental strengths, and whose research clearly informs their ability
to teach an ethnographic area course and several topics courses. Expertise
that can contribute to the creation of a Master's Program with an emphasis
on morality and ethics is an asset.

Professor at the University of Regina is CAD$72,567-CAD$93,831.
