Cultural Anthropology
The Department of Anthropology at McMaster University invites
applications for a tenure-track position in cultural anthropology at
the assistant professor level. The research focus should be in
critical and/or applied medical anthropology with an excellent
understanding of, and experience with, Participatory Action or
Community-Based Research and methods of community engagement. The
geographical area of specialization is open, although preference will
be given to candidates with areas of specialization that complement
current faculty strengths.
Candidates will have completed a Ph.D. and will have a strong research
record and a demonstrated record of excellence in teaching at the
undergraduate and graduate levels. We expect the person who fills this
position to take an active role in scholarship and to contribute to
the department?s strong tradition of collegiality and collaboration.
All qualified candidates are encouraged to apply; however, Canadian
citizens and permanent residents will be considered first for this
