*German Anthropological Association (Deutsche Gesellschaft für
Völkerkunde, DGV) biennial conference, October 2013, Mainz, Germany*

*AAA searches for a new Executive Director - paid post
*The Executive Director is responsible for the successful leadership
and management of the organization whose strategic direction is set
by the Executive Board. The Executive Director serves as an
ex-officio, non-voting member on all association boards and
committees. The position is available due to the pending retirement
of the incumbent. In his 16-year tenure, the AAA has grown
substantially, reflecting his strengths in staff management and
development, board governance, and a sound understanding of how such
organizations succeed.

*Association of Social Anthropology of Aotearoa/New Zealand Annual

Anthropology and imagination

*ABA's online journal, Vibrant'*s latest issue has two dossiers of
interest: 'Challenges in Brazilian Anthropology' and 'Anthropology,
Cooperation and Development', among other articles published either
in English, French or Spanish.

*Job vacancy: Deputy Director for Social Sciences at the
International Geosphere-Biosphere Programme (IGBP).
*IGBP is an international research programme with the vision to
provide essential scientific leadership and knowledge of the Earth
system to help guide society onto a sustainable pathway during rapid
global change. The multidisciplinary network is composed of core
projects, managed by small teams located in different countries
around the world.
