The Department of Anthropology invites applications from qualified
candidates for a one-year Sessional Assistant Professor position in
Anthropology. The ethnographic research areas of the applicant and his/
her topical themes are open, with preference for specialization in
sexuality & gender. Applicants must have a PhD degree in
socio-cultural anthropology and demonstrate evidence of active
research. Applicants must demonstrate excellence in teaching,
evidenced by an ability to engage students in a variety of teaching
formats, including large lectures.
The position carries a teaching load of three full courses or the
equivalent. The start date is July 1, 2012. All York University
positions are subject to budgetary approval.
