The outstanding authors who are shortlisted for the Canada Prizes in
the Humanities and the Canada Prize in the Social Sciences were
announced yesterday. The nominees were selected from among works
supported by CFHSS's Awards to Scholarly Publications Program -

Watch Jeremy de Beer's Big Thinking lecture
on innovation
On January 31, University of Ottawa law professor Jeremy de Beer
presented the fifth Big Thinking lecture of the season to a full
house. He discussed ways to rethink intellectual property and how we
measure innovation. Professor de Beer argued for a move to a more
holistic approach to innovation, one that values the contributions of

CIHR is reaching out to social sciences and humanities researchers
with its upcoming webinar, Systems for Implementation of Population
