Homa Hoodfar is one of the team members for the Tehran city research
team. Can I encourage you to write Minister Stephane Dion & and the
PM concerning Professor Homa Hoodfar (Concordia University) who has
been arrested in Iran (see links below). Her research on gender,
displacement, education, and on many aspects of the lives of Afghans
in Iran has been extraordinarily important. I fear greatly for her
health and her life in Evin prison in Tehran.

Linda is PI on a SSHRC partner project proposal on gender and the city
that has just got through the first round. Several feminist
geographers are involved with this project and are all due to meet for
a workshop in Toronto in August.
