CfP: Forms of Continental Colonialism – The 'other' Colonialism (14 -
15 July 2016)


Dear Colleagues,

I'm preparing a small international conference at the Max Planck
Institute for Social Anthropology in Halle/Saale (Germany) for July
2016 and I'm still looking for somebody who would be interested to
cover Canada and/or Northern America.

This workshop is dedicated to the various forms (formats) of
continental colonialism worldwide which, due to predominant discourses
on over-seas and post-colonialism, has been neglected and got out of
the focus somehow. We shall discuss case studies on continental,
internal, and crypto colonialisms from various macro-regions in
contrasting perspectives. For details, please, see the CfP attached

(Originally the deadline for abstracts was September 30, but may be
expended for interested contributors.)

This CfP (link below) has been circulated through various networks for
several months already. At the moment, Russia and China (as imperial
formations) and India are more or less covered, while the two Americas
and Africa are not. In case you are interested, please, contact the
