Dear colleagues,
Here's to starting off the new year on a high note. You will be
delighted to learn that anthropologist Julie Cruikshank, who has spent
many years in the Yukon recording the life stories of Athapaskan and
Tlingit elders, was the recipient of an Order of Canada for her
accomplishments in this field. The Order of Canada "is the centrepiece
of Canada's honours system and recognizes a lifetime of outstanding
achievement, dedication to the community and service to the nation."
